One of my biggest challenges is following through on day to day long term activities. I guess it is no different than signing up for a gym with huge enthusiasm and then only making it to the gym for a few days before the old routine of excuses kicks in. So how do we make a change in our behaviors? How do we commit to doing something different? I have thought about this challenge all day and I have resolved to attempt a simple task of updating this blog daily in 2011! Yes I know it is a big challenge but I am curious to see if I can find a way to track my thoughts, emotions, events and happenings for an entire year. I am also curious to see if it has a positive effect on the outcome of my year?
So...
Day 1
What a great start to the New Year! We started the day with a great breakfast of eggs, potatoes, bacon, fruit, OJ and coffee. After breakfast Missy worked on her website and I diligently read a couple of chapters in my EMT book. Missy has decided to take on the challenge of riding the MS150 this year so we started the year on the right track with an 8 mile road bike ride in the neighborhood. After the ride we came home picked up Chloe (Missy's dog) and took her for a 45 minute hike in the Greenbelt. We met our friends Shannon and Leigh for dinner at Olive Garden and then watched The Rose Bowl at Shannon's house. We came home and I was still awake so I kicked back and relaxed watching the movie Last Chance Harvey. The movie was a good reminder of how quick life can pass us by if we let it. However, there is always the opportunity to change direction and make a choice to live how we want to, Now! We have 15 more minutes left on the first day of 2011 and I am quite pleased with how the day turned out! Tomorrow I am looking forward to another bike ride, studying and spending time with Missy and Chloe.
Cheers to another good year and may all your dreams come true!
